TOURS A MARAS - SALINERAS AND MORAY

Pick up from your hotel and guided visit to the non-traditional circuit MORAY, archaeological group unique in its kind. These are depressions or gigantic natural holes on the surface of the land that were used to construct terraces or agricultural platforms with their respective irrigation channels. What is strikingly striking is the average annual temperature difference between the top and bottom of the depressions.
MORAY, due to its climatic conditions and other characteristics, was an important center of domestication, acclimatization and hybridization of wild plant species that were modified or adapted for human consumption.

Tour Mchu Picchu PeruThen we will go to the Saltworks located 7 km from Moray, we will pass by a Spanish Typical Village called Maras. Through an endless number of agricultural terraces that adorn virtually all the mountains around it. In the center of the temple of Pisaq, we can observe an intiwatana (solar clock) and fine buildings inhabited by the Inca nobility 500 years ago.
After our visit to this ancient Inca citadel, we will visit the modern town of Pisaq, which is located on the right bank of the Urubamba River, and is populated almost entirely by the descendants of the Incas. Here we will visit a picturesque craft market, and to the northwest of the town of Maras are the famous salt miners known by some as "salt mines" are made up of about 3000 small wells, built next to the mountain of "Qaqawiñay", which During the dry season are filled or "watered" every 3 days with salt water that emanates from a natural manante located in the upper part of the wells so that when the water evaporates, the salt contained in it will gradually solidify. That process will continue for about a month until a considerable volume of solid salt is obtained.
